The Minstrels foi um trio vocal jamaicano na era do rocksteady.
Formado pelos irmãos Mikey Chung e Geoffrey Chung, e Lennox Robinson.
Gravaram singles em parceria com artistas lendários como Jackie Mittoo,Soul Vendors,Joe Higgs,Errol Dunkley,Bob Andy,The Hamlins, Lynn Taitt and The Jets,U-Roy Junior..
Os singles foram gravados em estúdios e selos lendários como Studio One,Cactus e Merritone..
Mikey 'Mao' Chung começou sua carreira musical em meados dos anos sessenta. Ele se sentiu atraído pela música depois de se apaixonar pelo violão durante o ensino médio no St. Georges College. Esse amor floresceu rapidamente e Mikey formou um grupo de cantores, The Minstrels, na escola, juntamente com seu irmão Geoffrey e seu colega de escola Lennox Robinson (que mais tarde foi substituído por Claude Braithwaite). THE REVOLUTIONARIES

 The Revolutionaries (traduzido para o português :"Revolucionários"),igualmente conhecidos como  é uma banda jamaicana de reggae atuante desde os anos 1970.
Criada em 1975 como a banda da casa do Channel One Studios,de propriedade de Joseph Hoo Kim ,  The Revolutionaries com Sly Dunbar na bateria e Robbie Shakespeare no baixo , criou o novo estilo "rockers", estilo que mudaria todo o som jamaicano  (a partir de raízes reggae para rockers, e seriam imitados em todas as outras produções do gênero.Além de Sly and Robbie , muitos músicos tocavam na banda: Bertram´Ranchie´ McLean , Radcliffe "Dougie" Bryan na guitarra , Ossie Hibbert , Errol "Tarzan" Nelson, Robert Lyn ou Ansel Collins nos teclados , Uziah "Sticky" Thompson e Noel "Scully" Simms na percussão , Tommy McCook e Herman Marquis no saxofone , Bobby Ellis no trompete e Vin Gordon no trombone .A banda tocou em  numerosos álbuns de dub, e registrou como uma banda de apoio para artistas como BB Seaton, Black Uhuru , Culture , Prince Alla , inteligente Leroy , Gregory Isaacs , John Holt , The Heptones , Mighty Diamonds , I-Roy ,Tapper Zukie  , Trinity , U Brown , Errol Scorcher , Serge Gainsbourg , entre outros.
Fizeram vários discos em parceria com uma outra famosa banda de estúdio,The Aggrovators (Bunny Lee´s) como Aggrovators Meets The Revolutioners At Channel One Studios (1977 Third World),Rockers Almighty Dub (Dubwise, Rockers, Bass & Drums,1979) e Clocktower e Agrovators Meet Revolutionaries Part II -( Micron )...

GEOFFREY CHUNG

O músico multiinstrumentista jamaicano(de descendência chinesa),engenheiro de som,arranjador e produtor Geoffrey Chung,nascido em 1950 em Kingston,Jamaica,foi uma peça fundamental na evolução do reggae..
Começou a trabalhar como um produtor nos anos 70, inicialmente com a cantora Sharon Forrester em seu primeiro álbum, e fundou sua companhia de produções ´´Edge Productions´´ em 1974. Suas produções incluíram trabalhos com The Abyssinians, Heptones e Marcia Griffiths. Igualmente trabalhou com Ras Michael and The Sons of Negus, no álbum Rastafari Dub de 1975, tocando o sintetizador o órgão e o piano, e trabalhou regularmente com cantor Pablo Moses, como tecladista e produtor, incluindo sua primeira e mais conhecida gravação "I Man a Grasshopper". Chung também produziu as gravações que seriam liberadas como os dois primeiros álbuns de Ijahman Levi. No princípio dos anos 1980 transformou-se num coordenador residente no estúdio Dynamic, onde mixou diversos álbuns de Peter Tosh.
Irmão do guitarrista e também multiinstrumentista Mikey ´´Mao ´´Chung(que fez parte da banda de Peter Tosh),Geoffrey Chung dominava com precisão instrumentos diversos como os teclados(órgão,clavinete,piano,sintetizador,keyboards),além do baixo,guitarra(solo e rítmica),percussão e vocais...
Geoffrey Chung trabalhou com inúmeras estrelas do reggae incluindo Jackie Mittoo,Chalice,The Congos,Hugh Mundell,Freddie McGregor,The Congos,Max Romeo,Sly and Robbie,Lee Perry,Judy Mowatt,Steel Pulse,Prince Lincoln, e inúmeras outras, produzindo os álbuns,como músico,ou as duas funções acumuladas ...
Geoffrey infelizmente faleceu em 1995 por falha do rim na Jamaica,mas deixou uma bela obra..
