O músico jamaicano Albert Malawi veio cursar a Alpha Boys School, em 1966. Ele freqüentou a escola ao lado de Eric ´Fish´ Clarke ( irmão de Johnny Clarke ), Leroy Smart e Lennie Hibbert ,e aprendeu a tocar bateria lá. Por demanda da Sister Ignatius, Malawi também se tornou seletor do Alpha Sound System por 3 anos (Por favor, verifique o artigo Soundclash DC no blog para mais informações sobre o sistema de som Alpha). Albert foi apelidado de Turbit (por causa dos peixes com ossos duros).
Albert Malawi deixou Alpha de maio, 13 de 1969 e, graças à sua educação, foi capaz de garantir o emprego de bibliotecária na Universidade das Índias Ocidentais.
Malawi passou a tocar bateria para, entre outros, membros da realeza do reggae, como Sugar Minott , Augustus Pablo (com quem gravou pelo menos 5 álbuns) ,Dennis Brown,Hugh Mundell,Fred Locks,Delroy Williams,Brigadier Jerry e muitos outros..
Como artista solo,Albert Malawi gravou excelentes singles como ´´Looking For Signs´´,´´Children Of The Emperor´´,´´Jah Bible´´..
Também gravou singles em parceria com nomes como Little Roy (Touch Not My Locks / Let's Get It Right) e A.Johnson (Don't Call My Name ,Take Me Back Home )...
Além de baterista Malawi é vocalista e percussionista..
