O Pergaminho Real da Supremacia Negra (The Royal Parchment Scroll of  Black Supremacy ), publicado em 1926 por um proto- pregador Rastafari, Fitz Balintine Pettersburg , é de importância histórica e religiosa aos seguidores do movimento Rastafari. Junto com o Santo Kebra Negast , é hoje reconhecido como um dos documentos raiz do pensamento Rastafari. É uma polêmica fluxo de consciência-surrealista contra a estrutura do poder branco colonial, um palimpsesto de pensamento Afrocêntrico.
Os primeiros cânticos e músicas rasta, incluindo a tradicional e básica Rasta Man Chant, que Bob Marley gravaria em meados da década de 1970, foram retirados da Holy Piby (Kebra Negast), onde estavam registrados em "glossolalia", uma ininteligível "língua dos anjos" que acabou sendo bastante similar ao jargão ritualístico usado das décadas de 1930-40 por um autoproclamado bruxo, o inglês Aleister Crowley, chamado de "Grande Fera", nas suas cerimônias ocultistas da Aurora de Ouro.Dentre os que estudaram a Holy Piby em St. Thomas estava o reverendo Fitz Balintine Pettersburg, que em 1926 mapresentou um documento i gualmente sagrado à confraria secreta da Holy Piby. Era o Pergaminho Real da Supremacia Negra (The Royal Parchment Scroll of  Black Supremacy ),que Pettersburg chamava de "livro supremo das regras reais para os depositários ocidentais da Etiópia".O prefácio foi escrito por Ras Miguel Lorne. Foi nesse livro que Pettersburg incorporou a profecia do reverendo James Webb descrevendo o reverendo a criação de um novo império etíope governado por uma divindade negra. O Pergaminho Real foi levado à sério por devotos das organizações fraternais em proil do pan-africanismo "etiópico" que surgiram na Jamaica, tais como a Associação Etíope (Ethiopian Guild) e a Missão da Irmandade (Brotherhood Mission). A última peça do quebra-cabeça teológico foi a Chave Prometida (The Promised Key), também chamada Bíblia Rasta, um livro feito por Leonard Percival Howell nos anos 1930 com base no Pergaminho Real.Marcus Garvey está na raiz desse processo.Esta é a verdadeira origem teológica do reggae.
 É muito difícil obter hoje cópias deste texto.
