William Hugh Nelson, mais conhecido como Willie Nelson (Abbot, 30 de abril de 1933) é um cantor e compositor de música country, escritor, ator, poeta e ativista americano. Foi considerado o 77º melhor guitarrista de todos os tempos pela revista norte-americana Rolling Stone. Willie Nelson nasceu em 30 de abril de 1933, em Abbot, Texas, nos Estados Unidos. Nelson e sua irmã, Roberta Nelson, foram criados por seu avós depois que seu pai faleceu e sua mãe saiu de casa. Willie tocava violão enquanto Bobbie tocava piano. Em 1950, sua família se mudou para Nashville, onde Nelson compôs "Hello Walls", que viria a ser seu primeiro, de muitos sucessos. Suas composições foram cantadas por ilustres artistas da música country, incluindo o sucesso "Crazy", que compôs para a amiga, Patsy Cline. A música "On the Road Again" foi uma das mais tocadas no início dos anos 1980, utilizada posteriormente como tema do filme Forrest Gump. Após um incêndio em sua residência em Nashville, em dezembro de 1970, Willie se mudou novamente para o Texas, aonde reside até hoje. Em 1993, entrou para a Country Music Hall of Fame. Com uma discografia invejável que conta com 67 álbuns, sendo o primeiro de destaque Shotgun Willie, lançado em 1973, passando pelo lendário The Winning Hand (1982), que trazia participações especiais como Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson e Brenda Lee, até chegar no mais recente lançado em 2005 pela Lost Highway Records, o álbum Countryman, Willie inova mais uma vez fundindo, pela primeira vez na história da música, o estilo country com a sonoridade do reggae.Countryman é um álbum de Willie Nelson . Dez anos de trabalho,Nelson seu primeiro álbum reggae funde o gospel e o espírito encontrado tanto no country como no reggae. Foi lançado em CD formato em 2 de agosto de 2005 pelo rótulo Lost Highway . Willie Nelson fez dois vídeos para este álbum " The Harder They Come "e "I'm a Worried Man", ambos os vídeos foram filmados na Jamaica,o último com participação de Toots Hibbert do Toots and The Maytals..Willie viajou para a Jamaica e gravou o álbum com participação de lendas do reggae como Toots, Jimmy Cliff,Carlton ´´Santa´´ Davis na bateria,Wayne Jobson na guitarra,Pam Hall nos backing vocais,Norris Webb (Third World) nos teclados. ..
