THE UPSETTERS

The Upsetters é o nome dado à banda de casa do famoso músico e produtor jamaicano de reggae Lee ' Scratch' Perry. O nome da banda vem da alcunha de Perry de ´´Upsetter´´, apelido esse dado após sua canção ´´I´m the Upsetter´´ , uma destituição musical de sua experiência anterior com Sir Coxsone Dodd. Os Upsetters originais eram a banda Gladdys All-Stars, conduzida pelo pianista Gladstone Anderson e foram eles que gravaram originalmente os sucessos internacionais "Live Injection" e "Return Of Django".Quando outros compromissos impediram que todas as estrelas participassem, uma outra banda foi nomeada de Hippy Boys foi recrutada para fazer a excursão subseqüente de Perry no Reino Unido. Esta formação permaneceu como a banda de estúdio que foi mais associada com o nome, indo depois eventualmente dar forma ao núcleo da famosa banda de Bob Marley de revestimento protetor os The Wailers. A banda incluiu o guitarrista Alva Lewis,o organista Glen Adams e os irmãos Aston ' Family Man' Barrett e Carlton Barrett, no contabaixo e na bateria respectivamente. As trilhas "Return of Django" e "Dollar In the Teeth" foram usadas na trilha sonora do filme Grand Theft Auto: London, e a trilha "I Chase The Devil"do álbum War Ina Babylon, por Max Romeo & Upsetters é caracterizada na estação de rádio de reggae K-JAH , e no jogo de video popular ´´Grand Theft Auto San Andreas´´,liberado em outubro de 2004. "Return of Django" foi caracterizado igualmente no filme This Is England....

Também são conhecidos como Upsyndicates, Upsetter Pilgrims, Third And Fourth Generation, Upsetting Upsetters, Mighty Upsetters e Black Ark Players....
