Tony Rebel (nascido Anthony George Patrick Barrett, 15 de Janeiro de 1962,na paróquia de Manchester, Jamaica ) é um deejay jamaicano de reggae . Tony foi inicialmente um cantor, aparecendo como Papa Tony ou Tony Ranking em concursos de talentos locais e em sistemas de som , incluindo no de Sugar Minott ,Youthman Promotions. Seu primeiro lançamento foi o single "Casino", que apareceu em 1988, na gravadora MGB , apesar de que sua carreira decolou quando ele trabalhou com Donovan Germain na Penthouse Records no início de 1990. Tony teve um grande sucesso em 1990 com "Fresh Vegetable", e se estabeleceu como um singjay de estilo de entrega. Rebel é notável como uma das poucos deejays dreadlocks 'cultural' da era ragga . Em 1992, Rebel assinou um contrato com a Columbia Records , que lançou ´Vibes of the Times´, um álbum de reggae de fusão, predominantemente, no ano seguinte. Isso gerou alguns dos seus singles mais conhecidos internacionais, como o título das faixas "Vibes of the Times" e "Nazerite Vow" sendo que ambos acompanham vídeos de música. Em 1994 Rebel fundou sua gravadora , 'Flames'. Nesse mesmo ano, ele realizou um festival de reggae chamado Rebel Salute em Mandeville, Jamaica . O Rebel Salute tornou-se um evento anual de sucesso através de sua produtora, Flames Productions , e é realizado todos os anos em seu aniversário,atraindo muito público e os artistas...
