Henry "Raleigh" Gordon,juntamente com Nathaniel McCarthy (aka Jerry Matthias) era um dos backing vocalistas do grupo The Maytals,que suportou Toots boa parte de sua carreira..
Raleigh Gordon, o mais velho dos três, nascido em 1937 em St. Andrew, Jamaica,foi o último a se juntar ao trio,ainda tinha que tentar a sua sorte. Individualmente, eles não receberam nada, juntos eles conquistaram o mundo. Depois de ligar e escolher um nome (The Maytals foi a sugestão de Gordon), o trio começou a fazer as rondas de estúdio e, agora, praticamente todos os produtores estavam brigando para gravá-los.
 Raleigh Gordon não cantou com eles nas demais décadas. De fato, o Mr. Gordon já não está vivendo. InfelizmenteGordon morreu em 1994.
Além do Toots,Gordon cantou com Byron Lee and The Dragonaries,Jamaican All Stars e em coletâneas da Trojan e Jamaican Gold..
