Joe Mansano aka Joe The Boss nasceu em Trinidad e Tobago, ele se mudou para o Reino Unido em 1963 para estudar a contabilidade, tornou-se um produtor de discos e em 1980 voltou para casa.
No Reino Unido no mundo do reggae Joe é mais conhecido por seu trabalho de produção da Trojan Records, a empresa também ofereceu uma gravadora, chamada Joe. Com Rico Rodriguez no trombone fez um LP early reggae e instrumental,´Brixton Cat´ em 1969.
No relançamento do LP, Mansano não foi informado até que ele veio para a Inglaterra em 2002.
Negociaram com a Sanctuary Records que concordaram nos royalties e da liberação de uma compilação de sua obra, de singles 7 "de Mansano das partes que haviam sido impressas.
Joe The Boss foi lançado em Novembro de 2006 e contém várias músicas com Rico Rodriguez no trombone que não estavam disponíveis.
Participaram igualmente do disco de Mansano nomes como (embora a maioria desconhecidos): The Cimarons,Ray Martell,Delroy Williams ,The Informer,The Critics ,Billie Dice,Pama Dice,Patti La Donne,Girlie and Junior,Pamela Brown,Clive Williams, The Heat Wave,The Opening e The Nyah Shuffle..
Joe Mansano tinha sua própria banda de estúdio,a The Joe's All Stars,que gravou em 1969 o disco ´´Brixton Cat´´,produzido por Joe Mansano e engenhado por Gerry Kitchingham .Since I Met You Baby, Reggae On The Shore,The Judge,The Bullet ,The Proud One,Friendly Persuasion, Serenade,Hey Jude, Posion Snake, Funky Reggae, Reco's Torpedo , Honky But Officer e Brixton Cat de Joe Mansano do álbum ´Brixton Cat´ foram incluídas no disco ´Blow Your Horn e Brixton Cat´,por Rico And The Rudies..
