The Minstrels foi um trio vocal jamaicano na era do rocksteady.
Formado pelos irmãos Mikey Chung e Geoffrey Chung, e Lennox Robinson.
Gravaram singles em parceria com artistas lendários como Jackie Mittoo,Soul Vendors,Joe Higgs,Errol Dunkley,Bob Andy,The Hamlins, Lynn Taitt and The Jets,U-Roy Junior..
Os singles foram gravados em estúdios e selos lendários como Studio One,Cactus e Merritone..
Mikey 'Mao' Chung começou sua carreira musical em meados dos anos sessenta. Ele se sentiu atraído pela música depois de se apaixonar pelo violão durante o ensino médio no St. Georges College. Esse amor floresceu rapidamente e Mikey formou um grupo de cantores, The Minstrels, na escola, juntamente com seu irmão Geoffrey e seu colega de escola Lennox Robinson (que mais tarde foi substituído por Claude Braithwaite). Eles fizeram o teste e gravaram no que agora se tornou uma das lendárias instituições de gravação da Jamaica, Studio 1 ou Coxone Recording Studios..
